Live report: 4th Music Highway Festival @ Kyttaro!

Mr. Highway Band Mr. Highway Band || Jo Gogou Photography

4th Music Highway Festival”. A festival for the independent Greek music scene. This year it was hosted at Kyttaro, Athens. The “4th Music Highway Festival” is a growing one and this year we had the chance to see four great bands. The rock n roll / blues night had begun!
4LT were the first to come on stage, around 21:25. With their lyric video was playing on the wall and their faithful fans in front, they were set!  Strong rhythmic sound, they made a very good effort.  They sang various older and newer songs as Silence, Rain, Mouthless and a cover of Pearl Jam’s, Black. We heard the most know one, the virus (one that caused great excitement to their fans) and guilty from their last Lp.

After about 40 minutes 4LT gave their turn to Penny Dreadful. These guys can make music that gives the ignition for great things. Soon after their entering people were dancing! After a little warming up they got heavier, we heard new songs like the Devil in the Attic, only time will tell and ended up loudly with a Mexican feeling and a tripping attitude! By the time the were done the audience was mixed with the artists, all dancing and having fun.

The time was 23:30 and Dustbowl were next! Kyttaro was full by then and they came on stage. At a first glance all looked pretty special. Intriguing clothing, all kinds of instruments. They started of with an instrumental piece and kept on. They played new ones like the Boat and others like Linger on. Nice performance and you can see that the work greatly together.

The night wasn’t so young anymore and around 12:30 Mr Highway band came on stage. Catchy melodies, loud guitars and the place was lit! We heard great songs from them, like the Actress - as we were informed it is a song played for a different actress each time!
All and all the festival has become quite successful and there will be more to come!
